About Us

Our story

Le Bistro du Port is as classic as its name. The bistro celebrates ultra-classic French cuisine. It celebrates the harbour that surrounds us. It celebrates the warm, heartfelt atmosphere that has always been at the very heart of a true French bistro.

The kitchen

In the kitchen, Morten Krogholm navigates classical techniques and centuries of French tradition, working only with the finest ingredients. With more than two decades of experience from some of Copenhagen's most celebrated addresses — Kong Hans Kælder, Herman at Nimb, Noma and Søllerød Kro — and a run as head chef at the Michelin-starred restaurant Kokkeriet, he carries forward a craft tradition rarely found today. The result is an ultra-classic French kitchen that shapes every single dish at Le Bistro du Port: precise, unhurried by time, and built on respect for the craft and the ingredients.

The atmosphere

In the dining room, Jilly Høi, together with a close-knit team of attentive staff, creates a mood of warmth and intimacy that keeps guests lingering long after coffee. The wine list, the music and the interior are ambitious yet inviting — evoking the classic bistros of Paris.

The setting on Papirøen

The surroundings match the ambition of the place. Le Bistro du Port sits within Papirøen's striking new development, designed by the award-winning architecture studio Cobe — sloping façades and custom-made brick, a rare piece of contemporary Copenhagen architecture, set right on the water. From here, Copenhagen's harbour and Nyhavn paint the beautiful backdrop, both for lunch and for evenings as the sun sets over the water.
